What is a WebQuest?
A webquest is a research activity in which students collect information mostly from the world wide web. Webquests were first invented by Bernie Dodge in 1995.

An “expedition” is a lesson idea created by Dr. Tammy Seneca and Stephanie Thompson.  It is basically a stand-alone lesson that is completed from start to finish by the student in PowerPoint.  The students are actively engaged because they are required to locate information using weblinks and to answer questions or complete tasks using control toolbox functions within PowerPoint.  (Example tasks: watch a video, complete a timeline, define terms, sort information, etc.)  The expedition can also end with some kind of culminating product or opportunity for learners to synthesize information and demonstrate learning.  Expeditions are usually saved as a "PowerPoint Show" and not a presentation.  This way it will open in view mode, and learners do not have the ability to edit the show.

For more expeditions created by WBR teachers, go to the EdTech database
and search for expedition.
