ACT WorkKeys Testing
The WBR High Schools are proud to offer WorkKeys assessments to students who wish to pursue a Jump Start Career diploma or assess their work-ready skills. ACT Work Keys is given two times per year to eligible juniors and seniors.
Successful completion of three WorkKeys assessments—Applied Mathematics, Locating Information, and Reading for Information—can help an individual earn the National Career Readiness Certificate™ (NCRC®), a portable credential that documents essential work skills. More than 3 million NCRCs have been issued across the United States. Many of our regional employers use WorkKeys data to assess readiness for a variety of job opportunities.
Students in WBR who score at the level of Silver or higher may use their WorkKeys score as a complimentary credential in each of the regional and integrated graduation pathways that are offered at Brusly & Port Allen High Schools.
College Board CLEP Testing
WBR High Schools are currently offering the College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP) to high school students who have demonstrated proficiency in certain subjects and would like to test their knowledge in the interest of earning college credit.
CLEP helps WBR students receive college credit for what they already know, for a fraction of the cost of a college course. Developed by the College Board, CLEP is the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program, available at more than 2,900 colleges and universities.
WBR Students are welcome to attempt any of the 33 CLEP exams and achieve to help them achieve their college and career goals. Students are encouraged to research the amount of credit and passing score for each CLEP exam at the universities and colleges they are interested in attending. In some cases, students may take a CLEP exam in order to “test out” of a high school course, subject to principal approval. Students and parents may see a professional school counselor at BHS or PAHS for information or to schedule a CLEP exam.
