What is PBIS?
P.B.I.S “POSITIVE BEHAVIOR INTERVENTION SUPPORT”
Mission Statement: The PBIS team works to create and promote a positive school climate, develop and refine students' social skills, and support interactions within the academic setting.
We will continue to practice “Positive Behavior Intervention Support”. This approach to success, discipline, and practice has been implemented in all West Baton Rouge Parish schools. At BES, we have many proactive and positive interventions in place! At Brusly Elementary, our Kittens will take the "PAWS" pledge to always perform at their Personal best, Act Responsibly, Work and play safely, and Show respect.
This is known as PAWS.
Please take the time to talk with your children about our school’s expectations and rules when you can, and stop by to see us in action. You’ll hear more about "PAWS" throughout the year.
Students will have numerous opportunities to earn Kitten bucks each day for exhibiting "PAWS" behavior. BES will also reward positive behavior with our monthly PBIS events.
Our P.B.I.S program targets challenging behaviors and offers assistance in correcting these behaviors.
