Wayne Conaway

Coach Conaway was born in Plaquemine and graduated from PAHS in 1978. He attended USL from 1978-1982 and was a football manager. Coach worked at PAHS from 2006-2015 as a volleyball coach in addition to being a statistician for our baseball, basketball, and football teams. As head volleyball coach at PAHS, Coach Conaway led us to a district championship in 2012 and made the playoffs 6 years in a row. Coach Conaway was volleyball coach and assistant softball coach at Baker for two years, winning Assistant Coach of the Year along the way. Coach Conaway’s 2019 Baker softball team made the playoffs for the first time in 14 years. Coach then served as a volleyball and softball coach in addition to teaching Physical Education, Health, and Driver’s Education at Family Christin before coming back home to his alma mater. Coach walks a few miles every day, loves to ride his bike, loves World War 1 and 2 history, and has his CDL. Coach has one son, Jonathan Patrick Conaway who is a 2017 graduate of PAHS and a current social studies teacher at our school. Go Pels!
