Today, Mr. Darick Potter with Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers reached out to BMS with an incredible show of support for our students and our school. He wanted to recognize and reward every student who earned A/B Honor Roll for BOTH the 1st and 2nd nine weeks — and he didn’t come empty-handed!
Mr. Potter walked into BMS with 119 gift cards for a FREE Kids Combo at Raising Cane’s . When we proudly shared that 119 students qualified, it was a moment that truly highlighted the hard work, dedication, and academic success of our students.
We are so grateful to Mr. Potter and Raising Cane’s for supporting our schools and celebrating student achievement in such a meaningful way. Partnerships like this remind our students that their efforts matter — and that their community is cheering them on! #RAISINGCANESCHICKENFINGERS #DARICKPOTTER #BRUSLYMIDDLESCHOOL #AsBsCanes

On Tuesday, Ms. Guillory's 7th graders held their own "rebellions" and created their own governments and constitution to introduce Orwell's Animal Farm and the concept of rebelling. There were various different results: a pure democracy, a democracy with co-presidents which was then overthrown in a staged coup, a democracy with a singular president, and finally two separate governments. Overall, students learned the importance of equality and how chaos does not serve the whole! Amazing way to begin the new academic year!
These students wasted no time kicking off the 3rd 9 Weeks by passing an AR test on the first day. Keep reading, keep growing!
