Happy National School Counseling Week! Thank you to Mrs. Lamkin, Mrs. Lass, and Ms. Lindsey for all that you do for our students, teachers, and staff on a daily basis. You are all appreciated SO VERY MUCH!

Ms. Sarah’s Pre-K friends wrapped up their “Creative Me” unit this week with a fun story! After reading “I Ain’t Gonna Paint No More!” students practiced retelling the story and its rhymes in a fun and interactive way... by painting Ms. Sarah! 🎨

More of our 2nd grade engineers experimenting and their final project (picture frames!) using the glue they created. Way to go Blue Jays!

The second graders have been busy discovering and learning about what kinds of ingredients will create the stickiest and strongest glue. They have been planning, making, and testing their glue recipes using the engineering design process. Many were successful, and their last goal was to improve the glue by making it clear.

A few more from the 100th Day of School!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! A grand total of 2,061 items were donated for our 100th Day of School Food Drive! Amazing! The winners of the class parties will be announced Monday morning at our assembly.
Thank you to Mrs. Kayleigh Cashio for spearheading this worthwhile event!
We are so proud of our Blue Jays and their willingness to help those in need. GO BLUE JAYS!

Caneview students in grades Head Start through 4th grade will participate in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance on Tuesday, February 3rd for WBRZ. The news station will be at school to record the students for later airings. In order for your child to participate, they must have a signed permission slip. The permission slip must be returned by Tuesday (2/3/26) morning. Once airing dates are released, we will notify families. We are excited about this opportunity to see our Blue Jays shine on 2une In!

Tomorrow is the last chance for your Food Drive donations! Help your child's class win a class party! The three classes with the most donations win!

Our Caneview sock sale ends tomorrow! Your students can show their school pride with these crew and quarter length athletic socks!

Parents, We Need You! Become a Substitute Teacher in WBR Schools
WBR Families, we are always grateful for your partnership, and today we’re asking for your help in a special way. West Baton Rouge Schools is in need of substitute teachers, and we would love for our parents to consider joining our team.
If you’ve ever thought about helping out at school—even just a day or two each month—this is a wonderful opportunity to support our students while maintaining a flexible schedule. Substitutes receive weekly pay, free training, and the chance to make a meaningful impact right here in our community.
Kelly Education and WBR Schools will host a hiring event on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 9 AM–1 PM at the WBR School Board Office (3761 Rosedale Road, Port Allen). Their team will walk you through everything you need to get started.
More details are included on the photo.
