Caneview School is sponsoring a food drive for the 100th day of school. We are asking each class to help by collecting 100 food items before the 100th day of school, which is on January 31, 2025. Classes will collect the food items starting on January 27th through January 31st. Our school total will be graphed each day to show the students what an impact they are making! When the drive is finished, all food items will be donated to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. We chose this organization because they serve members of 11 different parishes, including West Baton Rouge Parish. If each class reaches the goal of 100 donated items, that will be over 2,600 items of food! The three classes in the school with the most donations will receive a class party!
Food items that are collected by the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank include:
Canned vegetables
Dried beans
Canned fruit
Granola bars
Juice
Rice
Jelly
Raisins
Cereal
Oatmeal
Tomato sauces
Canned soups
Dried fruits
Apple sauce
Crackers
Pasta
