Reminder that there is no school tomorrow in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

BES Food Menu: Week of January 20th, 2025.

Good afternoon, BES Families
WBR Schools are closed on Tuesday, January 21st.
Student work packets were sent home in November. Recognizing that students may face other circumstances or a lack of internet connection on a day of inclement weather, students will have three (3) days beyond the remote learning day to complete all assignments. In accordance with the district’s emergency learning plan, assignments must be completed and submitted to homeroom teachers for students to be counted as present during the remote learning day(s).
If you do not have a packet, please visit our website under "documents" to access a digital one. https://www.wbrschools.net/o/bes

Please note that we are monitoring the possible winter storm.

After the lastest update from officials, all WBR Schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Students should complete the distance education student work assignment for attendance credit.

Our Capturing Kids Hearts process champions are excited for the new year! Thank you to Administration for planning our Professional Development breakout sessions!

This is our January Capturing Kids Hearts Newsletter that was sent home with students earlier this week. Our CKH word for January is Respect. Teaching our students to respect others at school is very important for creating a positive and learning environment.

Check out the new (free) Wi-Fi access points around WBR!

Good school attendance means consistently being present and punctual at school, which is important for academic success and personal development. It reflects a student's commitment to their education, helps them stay up to date with lessons, and builds habits of responsibility. ♥️🐾

This month with Capturing Kids Heart, we’re focusing on respect, which comes in many forms: respect for life, for property, for parents, for elders, for nature, and for the beliefs and rights of others. Respect includes being courteous and polite, as well as respecting yourself by avoiding self-criticism. We can model respect for our children regarding how we speak to and treat them. Respect is not only an important character trait, but it can also be a source of real joy! Respect implies a certain appreciation, which makes us more aware of other people’s needs and feelings.

Join us in congratulating our December “Super Kittens” of Brusly Elementary School.
Super Kittens is monthly award given out by our Homeroom Teachers to recognize students who display exceptional behavior. This school year, we have been tying this award to our Capturing Kids Hearts word of the month.
Our December Super Kittens were exemplars of “Responsibility.”
We are so proud of all of our students. Included below are pictures of our Head Start, Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First grade Super Kitten winners!

*Not all students were present on this school day, makeup pictures will be added to this post once we return to school in January.
