Wishing you a Happy New Year! We can't wait to see everyone in 2025!

Join us in congratulating our December “Super Kittens” of Brusly Elementary School.
Super Kittens is monthly award given out by our Homeroom Teachers to recognize students who display exceptional behavior. This school year, we have been tying this award to our Capturing Kids Hearts word of the month.
Our December Super Kittens were exemplars of “Responsibility.”
We are so proud of all of our students. Included below are pictures of our Head Start, Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First grade Super Kitten winners!

*Not all students were present on this school day, makeup pictures will be added to this post once we return to school in January.

Just a reminder that Friday is a half day for students!

Dear BES Families,
A student is typically not too sick to attend school if they have mild symptoms, such as a slight cold, and are still able to focus and participate in class.
However, if a student has more severe symptoms, like a fever or is experiencing significant discomfort, it is best to keep them home to rest and prevent the spread of illness.
If a child is absent due to illness, it's important for parents to ensure that a doctor's note or excuse is provided to the school to clarify the reason for the absence and to support their return to class when they are fully recovered. This helps maintain accurate attendance records and ensures the child receives the proper accommodations.

Help us reach our attendance goal this month!

Mrs. Bickham's class is spreading Christmas kindness and cheer all around our school. They made a banner for the office and cookies for the cafeteria workers!

We would like to thank Pat's Coats for Kids for providing coats for our students, and we would like to thank Santa's Helper's for providing Christmas gifts. We appreciate you both!

We hosted our 2nd Parent Advisory Council on December 10th. Agenda topics: school goals, school subgoals and progress. Capturing Kids' Hearts. Parent survey results. Heggerty. Parents had a great time participating in a Kindergarten Heggerty lesson with our Literacy Coach Mrs. LeGrange. Heggerty is a literacy program that helps students develop reading and writing skills through phonemic awareness, phonics, and other strategies. All students in Head Start through 1st grade are taught Heggerty daily.

Check out the new (free) Wi-Fi access points around WBR!

Dear BES Families,
Building the habit of good attendance is essential for academic success and personal development. It starts with creating a consistent routine that prioritizes being on time as well as being present everyday.
